10/12/25 Serve with Honor: Doubting Your Gifts

October 12, 2025

In this Sunday morning message, the congregation reflects on how God equips His people to serve with honor through the gifts He places in each believer. The sermon uses the image of children learning to walk and insisting “I can do it” to remind us that spiritual growth often includes stumbling, insecurity, and failure, but those moments are not reasons to quit. They are part of learning to faithfully use what God has given us.

The message connects David’s “cave moments” in Psalm 142 to the struggle believers feel when discouragement, fear, or opposition makes them doubt their calling. Even when David felt alone and overwhelmed, God was still shaping him for leadership. The sermon emphasizes that gifts are discovered and strengthened through continued obedience, perseverance, and trust in God’s strength, especially when life feels difficult.

Using 1 Peter 4:10–11, the lesson challenges the church to stop hiding gifts and instead use them to serve others “in all circumstances,” so that God is praised through Jesus Christ. The sermon closes with a clear invitation to receive the greatest gift of all, salvation in Christ, and to respond in faith through repentance, confession, and baptism.
