9/28/25 - Taking the Faith Risk: Serve with Honor
In this Sunday morning sermon, Alan continues the “Serve with Honor” series with a message about taking the faith risk. Using Exodus 3, he walks through Moses’ encounter with God at the burning bush and explains how God often calls people through moments that disrupt routine and demand trust.
The lesson highlights theophanies in Scripture, moments when God makes His presence known in an extraordinary way, and connects Moses’ calling to other biblical examples such as Elijah, Gideon, Samuel, and Saul. The core message is that God calls ordinary people to specific work, equips them with gifts, and promises His presence to empower what they could not accomplish on their own.
Alan challenges the church to respond to God’s calling with courage by stepping out of comfort zones, letting go of personal control, and taking up the challenge to move closer to the “burning bush” moments God places before us. The invitation is simple: be open, listen, and trust that God can use your gifts to serve Him and bless others.
