11/16/25 - The Perils of Serving

In the sermon, Alan teaches “The Perils of Serving,” explaining that service always carries vulnerability. Using a quote from C.S. Lewis, he warns that refusing to love or serve in order to avoid pain hardens the heart. Instead, followers of Christ are called to give themselves fully, even when service is costly.

Alan then reads Luke 17:11–19, the healing of the ten lepers, highlighting a hard truth: most people will not return to say thank you. Jesus knew that, yet He served anyway. Alan challenges the church to serve without expecting applause, recognition, or appreciation, and to do it for the “audience of one,” Jesus Christ.
