Introducing Stan and Susan Cox
Stan traces his spiritual roots back through 5 generations of Christians on his mother’s family tree (including 3 generations of gospel preachers) and 4 generations on his dad’s family tree. Much of his character is the product of a west Texas farming & ranching culture, which, even today, serves as a reminder of the delicate balance between hard work and trust in God. Following high school, Stan served 4 years in the army, spending the majority of his tour in Germany.
Stan met and married Susan Wooten in 1979, while both were attending North Texas State University, in Denton (both are NTSU graduates). After college, Stan and Susan both worked for Texas Instruments. Susan left TI in 1987 to be a full-time mom to Sarah, their daughter. Sarah graduated from Harding University with a degree in nursing in 2009. She works and lives in Austin.
Stan is employed as a Sr. Configuration Analyst with Lockheed Martin in Grand Prairie, TX. During his career, primarily in the defense industry, he’s held similar positions with Raytheon and TI. In conjunction with job changes the Cox family has lived in Lewisville TX, McKinney TX, and Tucson AZ. Stan and Susan have always made service to the LORD, His Church and others a priority in their lives.
Stan and his family have been members at Cedar Hill Church of Christ since 2001. He served as a Deacon prior to his installation as Elder in 2007. Susan is a homemaker and serves in the pre-school education and ladies’ ministries. She and Stan assist the World English School ministry and are active in the youth summer camp.
Stan and Susan’s favorite leisure activities are traveling, and spending time with family and friends.

Introducing Randy and Joyce Legler
Randy Legler became an elder at Cedar Hill Church of Christ in 2005, having served as deacon since 1988 over Visitation and Benevolence. In that year, he also began teaching Sixth grade with his wife Joyce, which they still do together.
Born and raised in Houston, he was baptized at Central Church of Christ. He met Joyce at the Central congregation about the same time that he was baptized when they were both young teens. They married in 1969 while he was serving in the U.S. Navy. After his enlistment, they made their home in Houston where he went to work for the telephone company and Joyce worked at several jobs until their son, Adam, and daughter, Lori, were born. After several managerial transfers, their family settled in Cedar Hill in 1986 and immediately placed membership at Cedar Hill Church of Christ. The entire family was involved in church life and it’s where their children grew up learning about the Lord Jesus Christ and became Christians. Adam is now married to Deanne and is a deacon at Pleasant Ridge Church of Christ. They have two sons, Luke and Landon. Lori is married to Adam Velek and they will have a family soon.
After retiring from Southwestern Bell, with 27 years of service, Randy has been able to spend more time in areas of church work. As an elder, he is over Missions, Risen Resources Ministry, Visitation, and the Library. He and Joyce enjoy the special times with family and he likes collecting and repairing antique toys.
Randy's goals are to continue to learn and grow in Christ and be the best example and leader possible. His long-term goals are to help lead the congregation so that it will continue to grow in faith and in spirit. He desires it to be a vibrant, scripturally sound church as long as he is able to serve, and thereafter.
